Julio Jones is an American professional football player. From 2011 until 2020, Julio Jones played wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons. Regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of his generation, he recorded 12,896 receiving yards while playing for the Falcons, breaking the NFL record with 91.9 receiving yards per game.
Jones continued his career as a player for the Tennessee Titans until 2022 when he became a free agent. Julio Jones’s Early Life
Julio Jones was born Quintorris Lopez Jones Jr. on February 8, 1989, in Foley, Alabama. His mother, Queen Marvin, raised him and his brother when his father abandoned the family when he was five years old. Jones attended Foley High School as a teenager, where he played football as a defensive end and wide receiver.
During this period, he achieved remarkable success, throwing 75 passes for 1,306 yards and 16 touchdowns in his junior year. In high school, Jones dabbled in track and basketball as well. Notably, in the 2007 indoor season, he won the state championship in the high jump and the long and triple jumps in both 2006 and 2007.

Julio Jones Collegiate Career
For college, Jones committed to the University of Alabama and its Crimson Tide football team. In his first season in 2008, he was an immediate fan favorite and became the first true freshman wide receiver to start in a Crimson Tide season opener. Jones went on to have a breakout performance in a victory over the George Bulldogs, catching five passes for 94 yards.
He continued his success in the annual rivalry game against Tennessee, in which he recorded his first 100-yard receiving game en route to a 29-9 win. Jones bested this performance just two weeks later with seven catches for 128 yards in a win against LSU. He finished his season with 58 receptions for 924 receiving yards, plus four receiving touchdowns.
As a sophomore, Jones continued to play well, leading the Crimson Tide to an unblemished 12-0 regular season. After beating the Florida Gators, the squad moved on to the SEC Championship. After defeating the Texas Longhorns 37-21, the Crimson Tide advanced to the BCS National Championship.
In 2010, Jones played in the Capital One Bowl versus Michigan State to cap off his last season with Alabama. The Crimson Tide triumphed 49-7. With 78 catches and 1,133 yards, he set a school record at the end of his junior year.
