Jim Brown’s Playing Career
Brown made the decision to play in the NFL despite having clear talent in a variety of sports. The Cleveland Browns selected him in the 1957 NFL Draft. In a game against the Los Angeles Rams, he ran for 237 yards, which demonstrated his ability right away. With 1,527 yards, he had shattered the single-season record by 1958.
