Jeff Thomas, a model and influential person, has died. He was 35.
A spokesman for the Miami Police Department told people that Thomas’s body was found at an apartment building in Miami on March 8 in the afternoon. They said it looked like he killed himself, but the case is still open.
The Medical Examiner for Miami-Dade County said that the cause of death has not yet been determined.
Thomas has more than 121,000 followers on Instagram, and his profile says that he also started and runs an art consulting agency called One Popsicle.
His last Instagram post was from Miami and showed him in an outdoor pool. It was shared on March 8. He captioned the picture, “A Cold Plunge a Day Keeps the Doctor Away,” and added the hashtag “Mental Health.”
In the post’s comments, many people who cared about the person wrote about how sad they were.
“It was a pleasure to be your representative. You did everything you had to do to be successful in business.” Sometimes it was hard, but I knew your goals and how much you wanted to reach them,” Gerald Frankowski wrote. “The friendship we made afterward was more important. You always had the best intentions. Rip.”
Thomas also recently posted a sweet message about his “#1 Grandma” coming to visit from California.
“Her dear friend decided to take my beloved grandma on the cruise after she had planned to go with her recent husband, who died during the pandemic,” he wrote in the caption of an adorable video of her arriving at the Fort Lauderdale airport on March 5.
“It was a process to do it all after figuring out my busy work week and day, starting my EMT classes, getting a flat tire, moving into my new home, and moving from Los Angeles to Miami,” he said.
“However, I find a way to make it work for the people I love, who deserve it, and who do the same for me.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Sasha Colby said, “Rest in love,” Republic Records’ Joe Carozza wrote, “Your infectious smile has always brought me so much joy. Sweet boy, rest in peace.”
People asked Thomas’ modeling agency, Amck Models, for comments, but they didn’t answer immediately.
