Jason Ravnsborg, 44,tells police that he had hit a deer while driving to the home from the fundraising event for the Republican Party on Saturday night. But then he had came back to the scene on Sunday,to find the body of Joseph Boever,55.
Mr Boever is now expressing that they have experienced fear of the possible hit and run and cover up. All of them had setup and contacted by investigators to identify the body at maximum 22 hours after discovered.
The South Dakota of public department says that investigation would be handled “as we would have any other fatal car crash. Mr Ravnsborg says that a statement on Monday that he had called police immediately after the incident on a rural Stretch of US Highway late on Saturday.
He says that he had stopped and used the flashlight on his phone to look around his vehicle in the dark ,but saw nothing other than damage to his car and assured that he had hit a large animal.
He also said on adding that he was cooperating with the investigation while providing his own deepest sympathy to the family of the person who was died.
“We are currently working the investigation as referenced by Governor Noem in Hyde County,” Price said Sunday. “South Dakota Highway Patrol routinely investigates fatality crashes across our state and we will handle this as we would any other fatal crash.
Ravnsborg’s chief of staff Timothy Bormann called the episode “a tragic accident” in a statement released Monday.
