Google $10 Million Bug Bounty Rewards: What You Need to Know!

Google pays people who find problems in its stuff. They give money to say thanks for making their things safer. How much money a researcher makes depends on how bad the bug is that they find and how good their report is.

Google $10 Million Bug Bounty Rewards

Google said it gave out a big $10 million last year as reward for finding bugs. It’s the second-highest amount they’ve ever paid. The largest single reward in 2023 was $113,337.

They gave this $10 million to 632 people from 68 countries. These people found and reported problems in Google’s stuff.

In 2023, Google paid out less than the highest ever, $12 million, given for finding bugs in 2022. But it’s still the second-biggest amount ever. Since 2010, when the program started, researchers got $59 million altogether. Google gave $3.4 million to people who found problems in Android. They also raised the most money they’ll give to $15,000 to encourage more people to report issues.

Google $10 Million Bug Bounty Rewards

Last year, they included Wear OS in the bug bounty program to motivate more people to find problems in wearable gadgets that might harm users. Google talked about some security meetings where they found lots of problems. At the ESCAL8 conference, they had a live hacking contest for Wear OS and Android Automotive OS. People won $70,000 for finding more than 20 big problems.

Last year, at the hardwear.io security conferences, researchers found more than 50 problems with Nest, Fitbit, and Wearables. They got paid $116,000 for finding these issues.

In 2023, Google included generative AI in its program to find vulnerabilities. They organized a live-hacking event called bugSWAT, focusing on LLM products. This event led to 35 reports of bugs, and Google paid out over $87,000 for them.

We found problems with Hacking Google Bard – we got into it and took out information. And, We got into Google A.I. and got $50,000. In another place, a Chrome researcher earned $30,000 for finding a bug in V8 JIT optimization. This bug has been in the browser since at least M91, which was released in May 2021.
