Tragedy has struck the Entertainment industry this year. Hollywood keeps loosing great talent back-to-back. From Little Richard, Andre Hall, Betty Wright, Jerry Stiller, many more deaths seem to be following. Recent news of comedic legend Fred Willard’s death was just received and the industry is still in mourning. However, another death follows now. The popular director of various series-Lynn Shelton has passed away.
Lynn Shelton was a known American filmmaker, She was well known for her writing, directing and producing. Her career began with her feature film ‘We Go Way Back in 2004 which premiered in the Sundance Film Festival that year. After that, several of her films like ‘My Effortless Brilliance’, ‘Humpday’, ‘Your Sister’s Sister’, starring Emily Blunt, premiered in various film festivals. Humpday even opened in theatres of New York and Seattle.
Also, ‘Touchy Feely’ received a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize in 2013. In 2014, her film- ‘Laggies’ starring Kiera Knightley and Chloe Grace Mortez premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her recent films were- ‘Outside’ in 2017 and ‘Sword Of Trust’ in 2019 also premiered in film festivals. Shelton has also directed episodes of several popular shows like ‘Mad Men’, ‘The Mindy Project’, ‘Fresh Off The Boat’, ‘The Good Place’, ‘GLOW’, ‘New Girl’. As well as, Hulu’s recent new series ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ and ‘The Morning Show’ and numerous more.
Lynn Shelton Death
Lynn Shelton unexpectedly passed away on Friday, 15th of March 2020. The cause of her death is an unidentified blood disorder. Shelton died at 54 in L.A. The news of her death came from her creative and romantic partner- Marc Maron. He says in his statement: “I have some awful news. Lynn passed away last night. She collapsed yesterday morning after having been ill for a week, There was a previously unknown, underlying condition. It was not COVID-19. The doctors could not save her. They tried. Hard. I loved her very much as I know many of you did as well. It’s devastating. I am levelled, heartbroken and in complete shock and don’t really know how to move forward in this moment.”
He further says: “I needed you all to know. I don’t know some of you. Some I do. I’m just trying to let the people who were important to her know. She was a beautiful, kind, loving, charismatic artist. Her spirit was pure joy. She made me happy. I made her happy. We were happy. I made her laugh all the time. We laughed a lot. We were starting a life together. I really can’t believe what is happening, This is a horrendous, sad loss.”
Celebs On Her Death
Mark Duplass who was a part of ‘Your Sister’s Sister’ tweeted saying: “We lost our dear friend Lynn Shelton. We made so many things together. I wish we had made more. Her boundless creative energy and infectious spirit were unrivalled. She made me better. We butted heads, made up, laughed, pushed each other. Like family. What a deep loss.” Also, Mindy Kaling expressed her grief via Instagram saying: “Lynn Shelton loved actors and we loved her back. She was a dream on set. Her lovely, sunny energy was infectious and actors always drifted to video village between takes to be around her. She had such a quiet power and I will miss her. Rest In Peace, Lynn. Love you.” In addition, several other celebrities are expressing their sorrow over Shelton’s death. R.I.P Lynn Shelton!
