Since its start in 1997, Blizzard’s Diablo series has been a mainstay of the dungeon-crawler genre. With millions of copies sold, comics based on the game, and a lot of other merchandise, it’s safe to say that Diablo is at the top. And since Diablo 3 came out in 2012, a significant release has yet to be released.
We now have an official date for when Diablo 4 will be out. And as a special bonus, you’ll be able to play it before it comes out, thanks to beta releases and preloading. So you can go back to the horrible world sooner than you thought.
We know that Diablo 4 will have a lot of new features, like the ability to play in an open world and PvP interactions. There’s a lot to be excited about. The story will be interesting, too. Lilith, who is Mephisto’s daughter, will come back. The whole look will return to being darker, which will please fans who didn’t like how Diablo 3 changed away from that.

If you played the first beta, don’t worry, your progress will carry over to the second beta! You’ll be able to play as a barbarian, rogue, or sorcerer again. This time, you’ll also be able to play as a necromancer or druid.
On March 22, you’ll be able to preload the second beta. You’ll be able to play through the prologue and all of Act 1. The first zone, Fractured Peaks, can be fully explored, but your character’s maximum level is 25.

What Platforms And Consoles Can Play Diablo 4?
Diablo 4 will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Sorry, Switch fans, but the newest Diablo game won’t be coming to your platform yet. Since Diablo 3 is already on the Switch, don’t be surprised if Diablo 4 also ends up on the hybrid console at some point.
Diablo 4 Story And Setting
Diablo 4 will take place after Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, for those who haven’t been keeping up with what’s happening in-game.
After Malthael, the Angel of Death, destroyed a lot of the Sanctuary, the Gates of Heaven were shut. Lilith is let out of her prison because Heaven doesn’t know what’s going on in Sanctuary.
In an interview with Ausgamers, Luis Barriga, who is in charge of Diablo 4’s game, and John Mueller, who is in charge of the game’s art, talked about the big goals that the team has for Diablo 4 and its expansions. With Lilith instead of Diablo as the main bad guy, Mueller has said that there will be more to tell in the future, with more characters and stories that could be told in expansions:
“Diablo IV is like the first part of a book. We want to tell a big story, and we want to do it for as long as possible. If you think of this as the first chapter of a book with Lilith as the main character, it’s great to know that all these other characters could still show up again in the future. Or, “New People We Haven’t Seen Before.”
We also know that Diablo 4 will move away from Diablo 3’s conversation windows. Instead, it uses a mix of tool-generated and choreographed camera angles, which should improve both simple and complex NPC interactions. Some of the most important plot points in Diablo 4 happen during real-time cutscenes, and the transition back to player-controlled gameplay is smoother.
