Dennis James Allen is an American football coach who is the head coach for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. From 2012 to 2014, he was the Oakland Raiders’ head coach.

Dennis Allen Parents & Family
On September 22, 1972, Dennis was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Kay Allen and Grady Allen. His father, Grady Allen, was a five-season linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons during his professional football career.
He had a close relationship with his parents, who encouraged him to follow his football dreams and were always there to support him through life’s major decisions.

Dennis Allen played collegiate football for Texas A&M University’s Aggies football team before starting his coaching career in the National Football League. He worked as a graduate assistant for Texas A&M before starting his coaching career. When he joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2002 as their defensive quality control coach, his NFL career officially began. The Denver Broncos hired Allen in 2011 to serve as their defensive coordinator.
He signed a contract to become head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2012. The Oakland Raiders fired Allen in 2014 due to his lackluster performance during his tenure. Allen became a senior defensive assistant when he signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2015. Allen continued to hone his coaching abilities throughout the years, and the Saints hired him as head coach in 2022.
