David Goggins Early Life
On February 17, 1975, David Goggins was born in Buffalo, New York, in the United States into a Christian family. His age is 48. David’s mother is named Jackie, and his father is named Trunnis.
He grew up in Williamsville, New York, alongside his parents and brother, Trunnis Jr. At the age of six, he began working at his father’s skate park. David Goggins’s spouse, Aleeza Goggins, wed in 2005; however, the two later chose to separate in 2012.
David Goggins writes in his book Can’t Hurt Me about the severe and ongoing abuse he and his family members endured from their father before they left with their mother. After David’s Air Force discharge, he worked as a fumigator for pest control. He eventually decided to enlist in the Navy.
David Goggins Military Career
Goggins first applied to join the US Air Force Pararescue in the military. After learning that he had sickle cell trait, he was kicked out of training. Goggins then finished his training to become a Tactical Air Control Party member of the US Air Force. He served as a TACP from 1994 until 1999.
After that, Goggins departed from the US Air Force. After that, he trained in the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL course, which he had to retake three times because of different injuries. In 2001, Goggins completed his training. After completing a six-month probationary period and SEAL Qualification Training, he was granted the NEC 5326 designation as a Combatant Swimmer.
Goggins spent his 20-year military career serving in Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of SEAL Team 5. In 2004, he received his degree from the Army Ranger School. In the history of the United States Navy Seals, David Goggins was the 36th African-American to serve as a seal.
