Bobby Petrino is an American football coach born on March 10, 1961. Petrino, who is well-known for his offensive ability, has had a diverse coaching career in both college and professional settings. From 2008 to 2011, he was the head coach of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks football team.
In addition, Petrino has served as a coach at Missouri State, Western Kentucky, Louisville, and the Atlanta Falcons (NFL). Although he has had on-field success during his coaching career, which began in 1983, it has been clouded by controversy, most notably the scandal that caused him to leave Arkansas in 2012.
Bobby Petrino Accident
Bobby Petrino, the football coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks at the time, was fired after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in April 2012. Petrino was involved in a collision approximately 20 miles southeast of Fayetteville that left him with four fractured ribs, a cracked vertebra in his neck, and abrasions on his face.
Petrino initially insisted he was by himself when the accident occurred, but it was eventually discovered that Jessica Dorrell—the player development coordinator for the Razorbacks, whom he had recently hired—was with him. There were concerns about favoritism and conflicts of interest in the program after Petrino’s relationship with Dorrell, a 25-year-old former volleyball player from Arkansas, came to light.
