Fans are increasingly asking for more dark TV shows. The gritty and realistic setting of these shows really appeals to many different types of fans. One of the first shows to start this trend was “Barry”. Barry is a dark comedy-crime show that first aired in 2018. The HBO show is one of the most popular dark shows in the world and it also has several fans.
Barry has 2 seasons till now. The first season came out in 2018, while Season 2 came out the following year in 2019. Both seasons are 8 episodes each. Fans and critics both rate the show very highly. It has a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDb and it also has an amazing near-perfect score of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. The show has many great aspects to it. However, the script, humour, and actor performances are the best parts of the show according to many critics.
The show follows Barry Berkman. Barry is an ex-marine, who now works as a hitman-for-hire. He feels very dissatisfied and lonely. But on one of his assignments, he meets a theatre group in Los Angeles and decides to join the group.
Barry Season 3: A Guide On Bill Hader’s Character
The main character on the show is obviously Barry Berkman. Bill Hader is the actor who plays the character. One of the reasons that people love the show is the complexity of Bill Hader’s character. Barry is an extremely conflicted character in the show and it what makes him great.
Throughout the first 2 seasons, it explores who he is as a person. Many think that Barry is simply suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his time in the army. But Bill Hader himself denies this. He thinks it is Barry’s confusion over whether he is evil or not.
Barry first felt a sense of belonging when he killed his first person in war. Barry must decide if he is a killer by nature and nothing else will satisfy him. Even though he falls in love with his target in Los Angeles, the show still shows Barry grappling with his own nature.
