Shannon Sharpe is a former professional football player and his current role as a sports analyst and TV personality was born on June 26, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois. Shannon Sharpe NFL Career
The Denver Broncos selected Shannon Sharpe in the seventh round of the 1990 NFL Draft. Serving as a tight end, he played for the team across ten seasons, during which he secured two Super Bowl victories in 1998 and 1999.
Sharpe subsequently moved to the Baltimore Ravens in 2000, contributing to their Super Bowl win during his inaugural season with the team. He rejoined the Broncos for an additional two seasons before retiring in May 2004.
Over his 14-season career in the NFL, Sharpe clinched three Super Bowl titles, was named to the Pro Bowl eight times, and received four First-team All-Pro selections. He amassed over 10,060 receiving yards and scored 62 touchdowns from 815 receptions.
Sharpe is third among tight ends in terms of receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns, and he became the first in his position to surpass 10,000 receiving yards. In recognition of his remarkable NFL career, Sharpe was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
