Jeff Hafley Early Career
Born in Montvale, New Jersey, on April 4, 1979, Jeff Hafley began his coaching career following a successful collegiate football career. Hafley continued his education, earning a master’s degree from the University of Albany, SUNY, in 2003, after earning a bachelor’s degree in history from Siena College in 2001.
At Worcester Polytechnic, Hafley started his coaching career in 2001 as the running backs coach. Hafley worked with Albany as a defensive assistant from 2002 until 2005. Hafley joined Pittsburg as a defensive assistant in 2006. He stayed on till the 2010 season was over.
After finding employment, Hafley spent a season at Rutgers. He was able to secure employment with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he served as an assistant secondary until the 2013 season concluded. In 2012, Hafley began working as an NFL coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hafley became the secondary coach of the Cleveland Browns on January 27, 2014. He was removed from his duties after serving till the conclusion of the 2015 season.
