Logan Kallwick, a resident of Kalama, Washington, was recently identified as one of the two individuals involved in a fatal train collision off Interstate 5. Per a Washington State Patrol press memo on December 17, 2023, a car with two passengers and a flat tire travelling southbound on Interstate 5 veered off the road, went up an embankment and struck a tree.
The car kept going and ran over a train car carrying liquefied propane before pulling off the road. Both passengers, according to the authorities, died at the site. On the other hand, when the train crashed, there was no crew on board.
Many social media accounts named one of the passengers as teenager Logan Kallwick of Kalama, Washington, even though officials have not publicly recognized the people who died in the disaster.

What Happened At the Location?
After two Cowlitz County homeowners’ vehicles struck a tree and then a train car along the Columbia River early on Sunday, there was an immediate declaration of death at the site of the single-vehicle crash.
According to a news release from the Washington State Patrol, Logan R. Kallwick, 33, and Taylor R. Lavigne, 23, of Kalama, were travelling south on I-5 in an Audi R8 when the car veered off to the right, raced up an embankment, and struck a tree.
The car continued until it struck a train rail car carrying liquefied propane, at which point it stopped. The Cowlitz County coroner confirmed the identity of the victims. Both of them were not wearing seatbelts, and they didn’t seem to be under the effects of drugs or alcohol. There is currently an inquiry underway to determine what caused the crash.
