After rumours on Twitter that the fight was going to be cancelled, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul made it official on Friday that the grudge match between him and British boxer Tommy Fury will go on as planned.
This deadly duo will settle their score on February 26th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury (8-0) was scheduled to fight Problem Child in December 2021, but a severe rib injury forced him to withdraw. Because of this, Younger Paul had to fight Tyron Woodley for the second time.
And again in 2022, the fight between Paul (6-0) and the younger Fury made headlines because they agreed to fight on August 6th. However, because Tyson Fury was working with the leader of the Irish Cartel, TNT was denied entry, and the fight had to be cancelled again.
But fans have been waiting for this Magnum Opus event for so long that it is a sure thing that the fight will get a lot of attention and that both fighters will walk away with huge purses.
After looking at past payment records and information from insiders, we came to the conclusion that these two could be making this much for the upcoming fight. Let’s look at the purses, payouts, and salaries of these famous boxers for their upcoming fight on February 26.
Jake Paul And Tommy Fury Purse Payout Overview
Jake Paul has only fought former players, but his ability to get attention has made him one of the best-paid boxers in recent years.
In his last fight, which was against former UFC champion Anderson Silva, Jake Paul made a huge $6.5 million. Jake Paul’s lowest-paying fight to date was against former Bellator champion Ben Askren. The YouTube star made a nice sum of $690,000 from that fight.
Jake Paul will get a guaranteed purse of $3.2 million for the upcoming match against Fury. However, with a 65% ppv share, his total purse will be a huge $8.6 million (including sponsorship deals).
The opponent, Brit Tommy Fury, will get a guaranteed purse of $2 million, and with his 35% Ppv share, he will get a grand total of $4.5 million, which will be the biggest payout for TNT.
As a performance bonus, there will be an extra $1 million on the line for the winner.
