“Major Spoilers For Outer Banks Season 3 Ahead!”
After a long wait, The Pogues are finally back. On Thursday, February 23, Season 3 of the hit show came out on Netflix, and it didn’t disappoint. John B. and the rest of the gang jumped right into more exciting adventures. The Outer Banks crew is one step closer to solving one of the biggest mysteries that has stumped them for the past three seasons.
John B. has been looking for Denmark Tanny’s hidden gold treasure, which is thought to be worth at least $400 million. The only way to get to the money is to figure out how to read the messages in Tanny’s diary. Read on to find out who has Tanny’s journal in Outer Banks Season 3 if you want to know what all the fuss is about.
Who Is Denmark Tanny?
Tanny was the only person to survive when the Royal Merchant Ship sank at sea. He used to be enslaved. Since he was the only one to make it off the ship, Tanny claimed all the gold on board and used it to buy his freedom, his three sons, and other enslaved people. He tried to buy his wife’s freedom, but they wouldn’t let him because they thought he was leading a rebellion.
Tanny was killed in 1844 while looking for his wife’s body, who had been killed for trying to escape. The treasures and gold that Tanny left behind were hidden for hundreds of years until John B. The Pogues found Tanny’s letters to his sons and used them to see the treasure underground in the early seasons of the Outer Banks. John B’s friend and fellow Pogue, Pope Heyward, is related to Tanny.
Who Has The Original Copy Of Denmark’s Diary?
During the first two seasons of Outer Banks, viewers learn about Tanny’s story and discover that he used what he learned to start the Tannyhill Plantation, which later became the Cameron family’s home. The diary was written in Gullah. Ward Cameron found it and gave it to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
John B. went to the university and took pictures of the diary. He then brought it back to their history teacher, Mr. Sunn, who could read the Gullah language that Tanny wrote it in. John B made copies of the diary in the first season and found gold. However, when Ward and Rafe Cameron heard about the gold, Ward stole it and set John B up for murder.
This season, John B said that he left his copy of the diary in his old Volkswagen, which he loved and called “The Twinkie.” In Season 2, while the Pogues were off making discoveries and getting stuck on Poguelandia, the rain damaged John B’s copy of the diary.
John B. and Big John knew that the original copy of the diary was with Mr. Sunn, so they went to his house to get it. When the father and son team arrived, they were met by Carlos Singh’s smugglers trying to steal it. Big John killed the smugglers and took the diary after a fight.
Now that John B has the diary back, the Pogues are still using it to figure out clues that will help them find El Dorado, the biggest treasure of all.
Fans will have to watch Outer Banks Season 3 on Netflix for all the exciting details.
