Paige VanZant is speaking out about the meaningful message behind her new tattoo.
In a video released on Instagram on Sunday, the 28-year-old All Elite Wrestling star is seen receiving the phrase “Heart of a Warrior, Soul of a Lion” tattooed near her knuckles by South Florida tattoo artist Zach Aaron. After Aaron finished, VanZant showed off the finished piece to her millions of fans before explaining the significance of her body art.
“‘Heart of a Warrior, Soul of a Lion.'” Nobody can ever refute how much passion I put into my struggles. At times, I’ll throw away all I’ve ever learned and battle with nothing but pride, which doesn’t always result in the best conclusion. “This is a reminder to myself that I already have the heart and soul; all I need to do is take care of the rest,” VanZant explained.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship combatant VanZant made her debut in August 2020 and lost to Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich in her first two fights. This summer, she’ll be fighting in London as the main event.
When it comes to losing, “one thing I can find comfort in is that, for me, losing has never become easier – it only gets harder and harder,” VanZant said earlier this year. “I’m quite aware of how deeply invested my heart and thoughts remain in this. Because I put so much pressure on myself, I didn’t do my best. The similar strategy will be employed in the upcoming fight. When the game begins, “I intend to do everything I can to win.”
