Spoilers for Made In Abyss Season 2 (plot summary /synopsis):
The Abyss will require at least one more season, possibly even Made In Abyss Season 3. But will fans enjoy what they see in the dark? “The Abyss will provide all to those who would devote themselves to it, even darkness cannot approach it. Curses, blessings, and death. Everything. What closure will you find at the conclusion of your journey?”
The Abyss is rough twice as deep as the real-life Mariana Trench. Their goal is to descend to the seventh stratum, The Final Maelstrom, where Reg is thought to have sprung from in the past. It’s also feasible that the Abyss has an eighth and ninth tier. Riko has accepted his fate as a White Whistle who descends all the way.
She only wants to find her mother, understand the Abyss curse, and learn about the Narehate and treasures. Riko aspires to become a White Whistle in order to reach the sixth tier, but the power of these whistles is terrible.
The Bondrewd story arc concludes with Chapter 38, therefore the sixth layer will be the Capital Of The Unreturned. Riko, Reg, and Nanachi try to launch a letter balloon capsule. Riko’s new White Whistle is taken and a frightening drawing is left for them to see.
In their pursuit of their strange thief, they come across the Narehate Village of Ilblu, built by the Three Sages. The Narehate are humans transformed by the Abyss’ curse. In the settlement, they learn that Narehate’s bodies altered after they opted to fight the Abyss but gave up on accomplishing their mission, surrendering their lives.
They get a corporeal form in exchange for giving up on the Abyss. The first Narehate they meet can speak human, despite being altered beyond human recognition. The Narehate didn’t steal Riko’s White Whistle; they only wanted to mold it. The second surprise is that the Abyss force field does not exist in the Narehate village. So Riko can ascend stairs without problems.

The Narehate keeps a market where artifacts, including Riko’s mother’s letter, are traded for worth rather than money. Value is derived from soul signals and can take numerous forms. A “Haku” is a thing of the highest worth to a person. Aside from sentimental items, shredding others’ bodies might be valuable.
Even parts of a human body are deemed valuable, despite the fact that taking value is the Narehate’s greatest evil. And Riko’s crew sees firsthand how seriously the Narehate takes rule-breaking. However, value protection is only valid within the hamlet.
A loud noise surprises the adventurers after finding an “inn”. Suddenly, a throng of Narehate rushes to see a man named Faputa, who rarely visits the hamlet. Facetted with value, Faputa is thought to be the personification of value that can go anyplace within the sixth layer.
The six-limbed princess is feisty, wild, and has trouble relating to humans But she clearly recalls Reg, the so-called Treasure of the Deep. But because he lost his memories during the ascent, the robot child has no memory of meeting Faputa. But this encounter reveals more about Reg’s past and who he is in this world.
