I love a good pregnancy announcement on the red carpet, and luckily, Zawe Ashton does too.
Vogue says that the actor is expecting her first child with her fiance, Tom Hiddleston. Ashton told the news while showing a behind-the-scenes look at how she was getting ready for the red carpet at a special screening of her new movie, Mr. Malcom’s List, on June 29 in New York City.
Ashton wore a flowy beige dress with beads that fell down over her growing baby bump to the screening. Sabina Bilenko Couture made the off-the-shoulder dress, which also had a sheer cape, a bejeweled empire waist, and a small floral detail on the arm.
Ashton wore the dress with half-up, half-down hair and soft makeup, which added to the romantic look. (Mr. Malcom’s List is set in the Regency period, so the clothes make sense.)
Ashton, who is 37, and Hiddleston, who is 41, met in 2019 while working on the play Betrayal, which opened in London’s West End before moving to New York. They said they were dating in 2019, and their first red carpet appearance was at the 2021 Tony Awards. People said they were engaged earlier this month after Ashton was seen with a ring at the 2022 BAFTAs.
Tom Hiddleston rarely talks about his relationship, but when he did, he said, “I’m very happy.” Tom and Zawe, way to go!
