TAMPA, Fla. — In Florida, an arrest warrant has been issued for Antonio Brown, a former NFL player who was involved in a domestic violence case earlier this week. The Tampa Police Department says that on November 28, Brown got into a verbal fight with a woman and threw a shoe at her. Brown has not yet been taken into custody. Tampa police say that the troubled ex-wide receiver also “tried to evict” the woman and then locked her out of the South Tampa home.
Why Tampa Police Issue Arrest Warrant For Former Buccaneer Antonio Brown?
Tampa police said in a statement to ABC News: “Officers are working to find a peaceful solution in the South Tampa neighborhood. They do this in a number of ways, including using marked and unmarked patrol units. As we’ve already said, Brown isn’t talking to police, so it’s not clear if he’s inside or outside the house.”
Brown played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, but he only played in seven games before he blew up on the sideline during a game against the New York Jets on January 2. He argued with the coaches for a short time, then took off his pads and jersey on the sideline and walked back to the locker room.
Brown was let go by the team the same week. Brown was a receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers for nine years. He was on the first-team All-Pro four times, and he went to the Pro Bowl seven times in those nine years.
But in the 34-year-last old’s season in Pittsburgh, things quickly went downhill for his career. After the 2018 season, he was traded to the Oakland Raiders. However, he never played a game for them because he got into trouble off the field. For example, he protested the new helmet rules and got into an argument with the team’s general manager.

Brown was signed by the New England Patriots, but he only played in one game before he was let go because a former trainer said he did something sexual to her. Later, the woman sued Brown in civil court. The case was settled for an amount that was not made public.
Brown pleaded no contest to felony burglary with battery in June 2020. This was because he stole boxes of things that didn’t belong to him from a moving truck company and then punched the driver. He had to go on probation for two years and do 100 hours of community service.
