The second season of The Wheel of Time is coming to Amazon Prime, and it can’t come soon enough after the first season ended over the holidays (while proving to be quite popular). While fans of the show’s inspiration were divided, the episode itself was a mixed bag.

Amazon, on the other hand, is well on its way to releasing Season 2 later this year. We don’t have a firm release date yet, but we do know a little bit about the next season. And we recently learned that a new cast member has been added to the show.

Here’s everything we know so far about “The Wheel of Time” season 2.

THE WHEEL OF TIME SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE UPDATES

Season 1 of The Wheel of Time ended with a bang in December 2021, leaving many fans of the show eagerly awaiting the next episode. Amazon hasn’t said when Season 2 of The Wheel of Time will be available on the service.

The series began filming in July 2021 and was scheduled to conclude in February 2022, but there have been reports that filming has been extended until March.

The Wheel of Time’s director and executive producer, Sanaa Hamri, has stated that principal photography will conclude in March 2022. Despite the fact that filming is wrapping up early, We Can Expect The Wheel of Time Season 2 is set to premiere in late 2022 or early 2023.

WHEEL OF TIME SEASON 2 EXPECTED PLOT

The Wheel of Time will continue to turn for a long time because Amazon Prime Video confirmed a renewal six months before the show’s debut in November 2021.

In short, The Wheel of Time season two is a foregone conclusion. In fact, production is said to be well underway.

TVLine spoke with Vernon Sanders, Amazon Studios’ Head of Global TV, just before the first season finale aired, about the reasons behind the early decision to move forward with a second season:

“We’re fans of the show, and as episodes arrived and we saw the level of craftsmanship, and as we continued to talk to [showrunner] Rafe [Judkins] about where future seasons would go, we felt really confident that we had something that could last a long time for us.”

“These are large investments, so we obviously spent a lot of time making sure we were making the right decision here, but it’s still paying off for us.” Rafe and his incredible team deserve all of the credit, as does the cast, led by Rosamund [Pike as Moiraine].”

Those investments are already paying off, as The Wheel of Time was the most-watched original series on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. This bodes extremely well for season two, which will continue to draw inspiration from author Robert Jordan’s original book series.
