The Script, an Irish rock band, said that guitarist and co-founder Mark Sheehan died of a disease that they didn’t say.
Mark Sheehan, the famous guitarist, and co-founder of The Script died at age 46. Friday, the band wrote on social media about the sad news.
The Instagram post said, “Much-loved husband, father, brother, bandmate, and friend Mark Sheehan died today in the hospital after a short illness.” “The family and group ask that fans give them space during this sad time.”
Sheehan, Danny O’Donoghue, and Glen Power formed the band in 2001 in Dublin. Sheehan and O’Donoghue have known each other since they were kids and were both in the band Mytown.
The band went on to make six new albums. Their songs “Breakeven,” “Hall of Fame,” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” are their most well-known songs. Their first record, “,” went to No. 1 in the UK and Ireland. Sunsets & Full Moons, which came out in 2019, was their last project with new songs. They also released a song called “Dare You to Doubt Me” as a single in September previous year.
The Script played a few shows in the United States without Sheehan in 2021 and early 2022 so that he could spend more time with his family, O’Donoghue, who is 42 years old, told Sunday World last May.
“His children needed a father and his wife needed a husband,” he said.
“He’s been the engine of The Script for such a long time, [I told him] that if you want to take a bit of time out for your family, you are more than welcome to, and I insist on you going and doing it,” he said, adding that he returned “refreshed.”
The band was supposed to follow Pink on her U.K. tour in June.
Sheehan’s wife, Rina and their three children, Cameron, Avery, and Lil, will miss him.

Since Mark’s sad death, everyone from the president of Ireland to fellow musicians and die-hard fans of the group has said nice things about him.
A part of President Michael D. Higgins’s statement said, “The fact that Mark and his bandmates in The Script were so successful all over the world is a sign of how original and good they tried to be.”
“Mark and The Script’s music has done much to keep and spread this solid Irish tradition of musical success worldwide…
“Many people will miss Mark, but his family will miss him the most.
“Please know that Mark’s wife, Rina, his children Cameron, Avery, and Lil, his bandmates in The Script, and all his family and friends have my deepest condolences.”
