What Happened to Dr. Elizabeth On Dr. Pol?
Towards the end of 2016, Elizabeth Grammar and her husband, Robert Jason Grammer, experienced a tragic situation that resulted in his death, while she was hospitalized.
On that day, after consuming a significant amount of alcohol, including beer and vodka, Robert, a long-time welder, sought medical assistance from Elizabeth. Utilizing her medical knowledge, she administered butorphanol, a controlled narcotic. Unfortunately, he soon became unresponsive.
Emergency services rushed Robert Grammer to Monroe County Hospital, and he was subsequently transferred to Macon Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, Robert passed away on December 30, 2016. Born on November 2, 1968, he was 48 years old at the time of his death. Robert Grammer’s funeral took place at Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston, on January 2, 2017.
Robert Grammer grew up under the care of his parents, Dell Land Harris and Terry Grammer, alongside his siblings Terrie Rosborough, Shelby Reid, and Joseph Wade Grammer, who passed away before him.
In another heart-wrenching turn of events, before the decision to discontinue Robert’s life support was made, Elizabeth Grammar faced her crisis. On December 28, 2017, Deputy Cynthia Patten, responding to a call, discovered Elizabeth unresponsive at her home, with an IV inserted in her arm and the bag suspended from the ceiling, in what appeared to be an attempt to end her life.
Following this incident, Elizabeth was urgently taken to Monroe County Hospital, where she regained consciousness. Subsequently, she was moved to the psychiatric unit at Macon Medical Center, where her husband was still under intensive care.
