Valerie Bertinelli was born Valerie Anne Bertinelli on April 23, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware. She lived in Claymont, Delaware, Shreveport, Louisiana, Clarkston, Michigan, Oklahoma City, and Los Angeles, California, with her mother Nancy, father Andrew (a General Motors executive), and brothers Patrick, David, and Drew.
Her parents also had a son named Mark, who died when he was 17 months old because he got poisoned by accident. This was before Valerie was born. Bertinelli went to school at Granada Hills High School and the Tami Lynn School of Artists. From 1971 to 1979, Tami Lynn was her manager.

Valerie Bertinelli Personal Life
On April 11, 1981, Valerie wed the musician Eddie Van Halen, and on March 16, 1991, the couple welcomed their son Wolfgang into the world. In 2001, Bertinelli and Van Halen decided to end their marriage, and the divorce was finalized in December of 2007. Valerie has stated that Eddie’s drug addiction and his refusal to quit smoking after being diagnosed with oral cancer were major contributing factors in their decision to end their marriage.
