The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is an upcoming Disney+ show that takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. As the name suggests, it will follow Sam Wilson (The Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier).
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Picks Up After Avengers: Endgame
Both Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are back in their roles as The Falcon And The Winter Soldier respectively. When we last saw these characters, they were chatting with an aged Steve Rogers, who decided to give up the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson.
Bucky didn’t seem to have any issues with this, as he gave Sam an encouraging nod during this scene in Avengers: Endgame. However, based on what we’ve seen and heard of the show, the U.S. government might have an issue with this. They’d rather have the shield go to someone else, like John Walker.
U.S. Agent Will Be Part Of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier
Walker is a character from the comic books, and he does become Captain America at one point. However, he’s most likely going to end up as his other alter-ego, U.S. Agent. The interesting thing about U.S. Agent is that he’s somewhat unhinged and violent.
He also has all of Steve Rogers’ powers, so he should pose a serious threat to our heroes. He’s not going to be their only problem, though. We also know for a fact that Daniel Bruhl is coming back as Helmut Zemo. We last saw him appear in Captain America: Civil War, where his meticulous planning led to Iron Man and Captain America coming to blows.
Baron Zemo May Be Planning To Form The Masters Of Evil
We’ve even seen footage of him donning the iconic purple mask of his alter-ego, Baron Zemo. Marvel has spoken about the U.S. government’s disapproval of Sam Wilson as the new Captain America, the Winter Soldier’s presence, even the fact that Emily VanCamp is also returning as Sharon Carter/Agent 13.
They’ve been eerily quiet about Baron Zemo, though.
So, here’s my crackpot theory as to what Baron Zemo is up to here. Besides turning the U.S. government against both Falcon and Winter Soldier, I think he’s also eventually going to create a group of supervillains to replace Hydra. What will this group be called? Anyone who is familiar with Baron Zemo from the comic books knows where this is going – the Masters Of Evil.
It would make perfect sense for The Falcon And The Winter Soldier to go in this direction. Sebastian Stan has spoken about how the show’s tone is similar to the spy thriller vibe of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I could be completely wrong, but this is what my gut’s telling me right now.
