Spotify stopped Heardle on May 5, 2023. Heardle was like Wordle but for music. Instead of guessing words, you guessed songs from short clips. Spotify chose to concentrate on helping users find new music in their app instead of keeping a separate game.
Spotify is closing down Heardle, the music game it bought last July. TechCrunch first reported this. Spotify says on the Heardle website that the game will stop on May 5th, and it won’t return.

Heardle is like Wordle but for music. You get six tries to guess a song while listening to parts of it getting longer each time. It’s fun and tests your music knowledge.
3. The game gives users six chances to guess a song based on the first few seconds of music that open the track.
According to TechCrunch, there won’t be any layoffs as a result of the closure.

Listen again to guess the song! Faster guesses mean more points! After you guess the song, or if you choose to stop, Heardle provides a link for you to listen to the song on Spotify.
Heads up for Spotify game fans! You have until May 4th to take a picture of your stats if you want to keep track of your progress. After that, you won’t be able to see them anymore.
Spotify bought Heardle last year, saying it had tons of players. Now, with the Wordle craze dying down, maybe Heardle isn’t as hot anymore.
Perhaps the reason it shut down is because Spotify didn’t add Heardle to its app. If Heardle was part of Spotify, maybe it would still be around.
