Netflix has officially announced the cancellation of the Steve Carrell-led comedy series Space Force, continuing its recent trend of cancellations. The workplace comedy debuted in May 2020, with a second season following in February 2022.
On Friday, April 29, Deadline reported that Netflix would not proceed with Season 3 of Space Force. Despite its intriguing premise, the comedy show created by Greg Daniels and Steve Carrell failed to take off.
Aside from Carrell, the series featured a stellar cast that included John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Jimmy O. Yang, and Don Lake. However, neither season was a favorite of critics or fans.
Space Force For Season 3 Canceled By Netflix
One day later, on Friday, April 29th, that was quickly updated with the news that Space Force had been canceled and would not be returning for a third season.
Even with significant cost cuts, the show was canceled. Season 2’s production was moved to Vancouver from Los Angeles to save money, which resulted in a reshuffle in the writer’s room. Its episode count was also reduced from 10 to 7.
The lower budget could imply that season one did not live up to expectations, but rather than abandoning the series, it gave it another chance. Unless the show can pull the numbers (more on that in a moment), a third season is unlikely.

One bright spot for the series’ future is that the second season’s review consensus appears to be much more positive. It’s also worth noting that two Space Force season 2 clips went insanely viral on TikTok. We’re talking about the “Fuck Microsoft” scene, in which John Malkovich expresses his disappointment that Microsoft chose an inconvenient time to perform an auto-update.
Three of the most popular videos from that incident have received over 40 million views.
Space Force season 2 Last Episode Recap: The Ending Explained
“F**k” Tony’s father is played by Jon Lovitz in a scene that made me laugh. This is an example of how well the casting worked. It looks like the second season may be following the Netflix show Space Force, which is going to be canceled soon. There are plans to leave for all the people in this story.
See below for more: We also see that Dr. Chan Kaifang tells Dr. Mallory that SpaceX wants him to work there. To do the job, he tells him. It costs five times as much money, but there isn’t as much bureaucratic shit in this case. A dozen bags of candy come out of the vending machine even though he only paid for one.
It looks like Tony has been hired by Addison Rae’s new makeup line. He will run social media platforms for the company. During a meeting with General Brad Gregory, he talks about this with him. Erin wants to spend the rest of her gap year in Portugal. Captain Angela Ali is thinking about making a new choice.
Want to leave the Space Force? She wants to become a real estate agent and fly helicopter tours in Hawaii when she goes back there one day. With Chan, she goes down in an elevator. When the power goes out, there is no electricity. It’s finally time for them to be honest with each other. They tell each other their fringe, and they clear the air. She kisses him, and they kiss again.
The last time? Someone has taken over a spaceship called Blue Oyster Cult and is now in charge of it. No longer does the Space Force on the boat. Spacecraft: The spacecraft is over Russia right now.
This, as well as individual appliances breaking down and the power going out at headquarters, makes the team think it must be a Russian hack job. To crash the ship in their own country to make the United States look bad and make the Space Force look even more incompetent.
As an act of desperation, they write a script to make it look like the ship crashing into the land of Russia would be a disaster that would kill millions of people if hit. They hope that the Russians will give up the boat.
The plan worked, and the person who turned off their power has given Space Force control of the command center once again. In the movie, Chan is using the thrusters to pull the Blue Oyster Cult away from crashing, and he sees the whole system getting changed. Apple is likely to be a sponsor because Mallory says, “F**k Microsoft, f**k!,” which makes me think Apple is.
Now, that’s a good joke.
Space Force Season 3 Expected Cast
If the show comes back, you can expect all the big names to be there. The people who play General Naird in this movie are Steve Carell, Tawny Newsome, Jimmy O Yang, Ben Schwartz, Tony Scarapiducci, Diana Silvers, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, and Don Lake (Brad). He has also joined the cast (sort of, through video link) as Captain Lancaster, who is living on a spaceship by himself somewhere between Earth and Mars. Lisa Kudrow, who played Naird’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Maggie, is one of the people we don’t think we’ll see again. Maggie was only on the show for about three video calls during the episodes. We don’t know why she was in jail in the first place.
Erin has become an adult, so there’s no need for her to keep checking in. We don’t think we’ll see Lisa Kudrow on screen again. You never know.
Space Force Season 3 Expected Plotline
If Space Force does come back, the plot will be simple: stop the asteroid, save the world, kind of. We learned about a huge asteroid that was headed for Earth at the end of season two. The group couldn’t think of anything else but to sing “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys to stay calm. This is how the show works: So now, we have to figure out how to stop it before it’s too late because it’s on a direct path to Earth. Not at all. On top of that, we might see Angela and Chan’s relationship grow, and Naird tries to balance his personal and work lives as things get even more stressful.
Space Force Season 3 Trailer
Sorry. In this case, there will not be a renewal. There will not be any filming or a trailer. Simple as that. Though, if you come back to this page, we’ll keep in touch with Ground Control and keep this piece updated as often as we can with new information from them. Over and over again.
FAQ:
Why is Nairds wife in jail?
The reason for her sentence is never explicitly stated. Instead, she remains in the facility while her husband and daughter pay her visits or video chat with her on occasion. The ambiguous situation is intentional, according to Daniels in an interview (via The Wrap).
Why was Space Force Cancelled?
According to Deadline, Netflix has decided to cancel the Greg Daniels and Steve Carell-created series, most likely in response to Space Force’s less-than-stellar ratings during its brief run.
