Morris worked as an assistant coach at Hofstra University and Cornell University before starting his coaching career in the early 2000s. His commitment to excellence and knowledge attracted the interest of football teams very fast, paving the way for his appointment as an NFL coach. After starting out as a defensive quality control coach in 2002, he worked his way up the organization until being named head coach in 2009.
