In the world of online streaming, Pokimane has stirred up some trouble because of her new company, Myna Snacks, and their first product called the Midnight Mini Cookie.
You see, Pokimane, also known as Imane Anys, is a popular content creator, and she’s following in the footsteps of other creators like Logan Paul, KSI, and MrBeast, who have launched their own products before. Pokimane’s snack company, Myna Snacks, just unveiled the Midnight Mini Cookie.
But here’s the twist: Some people on the internet are saying that these Midnight Mini Cookies look very similar to a product that was briefly sold at Costco earlier this year.
From the initial announcement to the latest updates on this situation, we’ll break it all down for you so you can stay in the know.
What is Pokimane Snack Controversy All About?
Pokimane recently launched Myna Snacks, a brand that offers healthier snack options to satisfy cravings without compromising on health. The launch received positive feedback from fans and fellow streamers like CourageJD and QuarterJade, especially for their Midnight Cookies, the company’s first product.
However, things took a turn when social media users noticed similarities between Myna Snacks’ Midnight Cookies and another brand called Toatzy’s Midnight Cookies. People began to accuse Pokimane of rebranding an existing product due to similarities in nutritional values and product names. The pricing also appeared to increase, sparking a debate on social media.
In response, Pokimane addressed the situation through a video and a post, explaining that Toatzy’s Midnight Cookies had been discontinued. While Myna Snacks shares a manufacturer with the previous product, she clarified that their new cookies have a unique formula. She also mentioned that combining formulas when creating a new snack is a common practice in the industry.
Despite her explanation, some were not pleased with Pokimane’s on-stream reaction to criticism about Myna Snacks’ pricing. In a viral clip, she referred to those complaining as “broke boys,” drawing criticism for being insensitive about people’s financial situations. The controversy has certainly brought a lot of attention to her new venture, and its success in the future remains to be seen.
Pokimane Announces Myna Snacks
Pokimane got everyone curious when she hinted on Twitter that something exciting was coming on November 9, 2023. And just a week later, Myna Snacks made a big announcement on social media.

Now, Myna Snacks is all about making healthier snacks, and their very first product is called Midnight Mini Cookies. On their website, Pokimane explained, “Most snacks didn’t make me feel good about eating them. So, we made Myna.”
You can actually buy these Midnight Mini Cookies right now, and they come in packs of 4, 8, or 12. The prices are $28, $56, and $84, which means each bag costs about $7.
Reactions to Myna Snacks’ Midnight Mini Cookies
Controversy regarding the product’s origins emerged soon after Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies were announced. When comparing Myna’s most recent product to one that Costco had earlier this year, Twitter people started to wonder where it had originated from.
Myna Snacks and it’s co-founders, Pokimane and Darcey Macken, don’t say anything about how they experimented, created, and tested their product. So I did a little digging on their product. Here’s a thread of my findings. 🧵

Atelisi, a Twitter user, claimed that Myna Snacks had misrepresented who was behind the product. She did this by drawing attention to the fact that Creations Foods, a company that also makes other snack options, has a product comparable to Midnight Mini Cookies.
Atelisi contends that the two items are nearly identical because she evaluated them not just cosmetically but also in terms of their contents and nutritional data. Then they said that Myna’s new product was a “cash grab attempt,” adding that “the claim of ‘creating’ the cookie is (allegedly) a lie” and that “no work into the cookies themselves was put into it.”
Myna Snacks responds to backlash
A Myna representative contacted Dexerto to issue a comment shortly after the allegations started to circulate online, asserting that “Our product formulation is unique to Myna and exclusive to us.”
“We can confirm the Midnight Mini Cookies were in development for two years. This process included many rounds of testing and ingredient changes.”
One significant distinction between the Creation Foods product and Midnight Mini Cookies, aside from the origin of the ingredients, is the addition of vitamin D-rich mushroom powder.
Pokimane’s snack manufacturer has indicated that a more in-depth reveal in the future may help clarify the air around the early dispute.
Pokimane has also made a public statement in defense of his character to address the criticism.
