Pokémon GO: Here’s How This Year’s Pokémon GO Fest Will Work

Pokémon GO has been adapting the way it works over the past few months. Niantic has been doing this in order to ensure that the game remains playable through the coronavirus pandemic. The most recent Pokémon GO updates have been all about tweaking the game to make sure that players can enjoy the game from the comfort of their own home.

Pokémon GO Fest 2020 Will Take Place Worldwide

They’re also extending this courtesy to the many Pokémon GO events. Most important of these events is Pokémon GO Fest 2020. In the past, it has been a real-world event. However, this year, it isn’t going to be the same as that. Niantic is expanding the scope of this Pokémon GO event significantly. It’s going to be a worldwide event this time around.

Tickets For Pokémon GO Fest 2020 Are Available On The Digital Store

Players can purchase the ticket from the game’s digital store for $14.99. I’m assuming that a ticket is tied to your Pokémon GO accounts, so you may only be able to purchase one. If you have this ticket, here’s how Pokémon GO Fest 2020 will work.

Pokémon GO Fest 2020 Will Have New Pokémon To Catch Every Year

The event will take place on July 25 and 26, from 10 am to 8 pm in your local timezone. Throughout the day, players will be able to catch different types of Pokémon every hour. That’s because every hour, the habitat of Pokémon GO’s virtual surroundings will change.

In previous years, it took place in Chicago. It essentially functioned like a guided tour through various parks. Different areas of the parks would function as different habitats. This year’s event isn’t as elaborate as that, of course. However, it being a worldwide event does make it more accessible.
