It’s finally happening. Nobody panic. We’re getting more information about the PlayStation 5. It’s not a leak, or a prank or anything of the sort. Sony themselves are going to start showcasing more of their next-gen system.
Future Of Gaming Event Will Showcase PlayStation 5 Games
The PlayStation social media accounts all posted a teaser video, inviting everyone to their “Future Of Gaming” event. This event will be focused on the PlayStation 5. We see a shadowy glimpse at the console’s new DualSense controller, along with the event’s date.
The Future Of Gaming event is going to take place on June 4, 2020, at 1 pm PDT. So, what can we expect to see here? Turns out, a lot of stuff. Jim Ryan, President & CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment elaborated on what this event’s all about in a lengthy post on the PlayStation blog.
PlayStation 5 Event Wil Run For About An Hour
“I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe,” he wrote.
He also gives us some details about how long the event will be. “This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together,” he added.
Sony Finally Throwing The Doors Open On PlayStation 5
Sign. Me. Up. We’ve heard precious little about the PlayStation 5 since Mark Cerny’s “Road to PS5” presentation in March. No word on whether we’ll see the console itself during this event, but fingers crossed.
Sony is apparently wary of the criticism that Microsoft got for their Xbox 20/20 event. If they say they’re going to showcase games for the PlayStation 5, it likely means that we’ll see some proper gameplay from them.
In any case, this event was a long time coming, and I can’t wait.
