Michael George Vrabel was born in Akron, Ohio, on August 14, 1975. He subsequently enrolled at Ohio State after attending Walsh Jesuit High School. He practices Christianity.
From 1993 to 1996, Vrabel was a defensive end for the Ohio Buckeyes football team. He received recognition as a unanimous First Squad All-American squad during that time and was voted the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year twice (1995 and 1996). Before declaring for the 1997 NFL Draft, he finished his collegiate career with 36 sacks and 66 tackles for a loss. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him with the 91st selection in the third round of the draft.

Mike Vrabel Career
During his coaching tenure, he has led and improved several clubs, including the Tennessee Titans, Ohio State, and the Houston Texans.
Before starting his career as a coach, he was a football player in the Nation Football League for more than ten years. Vrabel started playing after the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in 1997.
He signed a free-agent contract with the New England Patriots in 2001. He participated in Super Bowl XXXIV as a player, which saw the New England Patriots defeat the St. Louis Rams 20–17.
In Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XXXIX, he scored a receiving touchdown in back-to-back games. Vrabel declared his retirement from football in 2010 after the Patriots traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009.
