Louisville Declared $12M Settlement, Taylor’s Case Caused New Police Reforms, A Turning Point?

On Tuesday, a $12Million settlement has been finalised in the afternoon. Mayor Greg Fischer would give this settlement. It would be given to the family of Breonna Taylor.

It’s been six months; cops shot this 26-year-old black woman. She was fatally shot in the apartment itself.

This is the largest settlement to date. Louisville police not only paid the payment but have also changed the approval processes. Additionally, search warrants would be executed.

Police Reforms

A team of social workers to give cops a company will be hired as well. Drug and alcohol content in blood would be tested of all the officers who will be involved in the shooting.

At the time of the settlement, Courier-Journal of the USA TODAY, Taylor’s family and attorneys Ben Crump, Sam Aguiar and Lonita Baker were are also present.

However, Fischer made sure that everything Indus settlement has been done in a justified manner.

Moreover, according to Taylor’s family’s attorney, the cases been handled has been slowed down. Significant policy reforms which have been taken is undoubtedly a turning point.
