Blair gained nationwide recognition for his time with the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1980s, before continuing his career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He later took on coaching roles at Northwest Classen, Southeast High School, and Frederick A. Douglass High School, among others in Oklahoma City.
