Kanye West Indicated He’d Be Running For President In 2015

The jury is still out on whether or not he’s being serious about this. However, there’s no reason to believe that he isn’t. He had indicated that he was planning to do this all the way back in 2015 during the MTV Music Awards, after all.

“If my grandfather was here right now he would not let me back down. I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this, it don’t matter though cause it ain’t about me. It’s about ideas bro, new ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president,” he said.

Kanye West Won’t Be On The Ballot In Four States

However, if Kanye West is, in fact, serious, he has already missed the deadline to register for the Presidential election’s ballots in four states. A Business Insider report cites the filing deadlines as available on the website Ballotpedia.

North Carolina’s deadline was March 3, Texas’ deadline was May 11, New Mexico’s deadline was June 25 and Indiana’s deadline was June 30. If Kanye West does end up formally running for President, he won’t be on the ballot in these four states.
