Juice Wrld Early Life

Jarad Anthony Higgins was born in Chicago in 1998. His parents divorced when he was young, and his dad left. His mother raised him and his brother. She was very religious and wouldn’t let him listen to rap or hip-hop, only rock, and pop.

He discovered Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Billy Idol, and Fall Out Boy through video games. At age 4, he learned piano, then guitar and drums. His high school band included trumpet.

Juice Wrld abused drugs in his youth. In sixth grade, he started drinking lean, a hydrocodone-soda mixture. He was using Xanax, Percocet, and cigarettes within two years. In high school, he posted iPhone music to Soundcloud.

His musical talents and interests were evident early on, but he didn’t start rapping until he was 16. His friends encouraged him to become a freestyler. Once he started recording and listening to more rap, Chief Keef became a major influence. Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Eminem, and Odd Future influenced his style.

Juice Wrld Career

Juice Wrld’s first song, “Forever,” was released on Soundcloud in 2015, when he was a sophomore in high school. Tupac Amaru Shakur, the late rapper who starred in the film “Juice,” inspired him to use the online handle “Juicethekidd.” He chose the moniker “Juice Wrld” to represent his ascension to global dominance after establishing himself as a more well-known artist.

Before he was known for his hip-hop sound, he was discovered by a record label. Higgins spent two weeks at a factory while working on his debut EP. Because his career was secure, he didn’t need a second job at Internet Money Records in Los Angeles. The label focuses on social media celebrities.

In the summer of 2017, Juice Wrld’s first album “9, 9, 9” released the song “Lucid Dreams.” Waka Flocka Flame and Lil Bibby took notice after his record was released. Later that year, he signed with Lil Bibby’s Grade A Productions and released “All Girls Are the Same,” his debut EP.

He signed a $3 million contract with Interscope Records after releasing a music video for the single in early 2018. Higgins’ single “Lucid Dreams” peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 2018. His first full-length album, “Goodbye & Good Riddance,” was released later that month.

Estate Income

Juice Wrld’s estate earned $15 million in the year following his death from various royalty streams, merchandise, and other avenues. It was sufficient to place the late rapper among the highest-paid deceased celebrities of the time. In comparison, Kobe Bryant’s estate earned approximately $25 million during the same time period.

Legacy And Death

Juice Wrld died on December 8th, 2019 after collapsing from a seizure at Chicago’s Midway International Airport. Federal agents were waiting at the airport after being alerted to the possibility that drugs were on his private jet.

Higgins was seen taking several pills that his management suspected were Percocet while police were searching the plane and luggage, and not long after, he collapsed and began convulsing.

They used Narcan, which is used to resuscitate people who have overdosed on opiates. Juice Wrld regained consciousness but was unable to communicate. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died an hour later.

On the plane, authorities discovered several guns, enhanced ammunition, codeine, and 70 pounds of marijuana. For the weapons, two members of his management team were charged with misdemeanors. Juice Wrld was only 21 years old at the time.

Following his death, his mother established the Live Free 999 Fund to assist underserved youths dealing with addiction or mental health issues. “Legends Never Die,” his third studio album, was released posthumously in 2020 and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart.
