John Lodge is a famous English singer and musician. He’s best known for singing and playing the bass guitar for the band The Moody Blues. John started his music career in Birmingham but paused it to focus on studying.
When Clint Warwick, the original bass player of The Moody Blues, left in 1966, John stepped in to replace Rod Clarke, who was just filling in temporarily. In this article, we’re going to talk all about John Lodge’s illness.
What is John Lodge Illness?
During the Christmas break, John Lodge, who is the bassist and lead singer/songwriter for the Moody Blues, had a serious health problem. His team mentioned on January 11, 2024, that he’s already getting better. Unfortunately, his planned U.S. tour for February and March, called “Performs Days of Future Passed,” had to be rescheduled because of his undisclosed health issue.
Lodge, who was born on July 20, 1945, stated in the post: “I hate to disappoint everyone, but whilst I can’t wait to get back on the road with my new show, I won’t be able to travel for the next couple of months. I’m doing well, surrounded by the love and support of my family, and spending my time writing music. I would like to thank everyone for keeping the faith.”
The dates were originally planned to happen earlier in 2023, and they were first announced in October. During these dates, they will be playing songs from The Moody Blues’ albums “Seventh Sojourn” and “Days of Future Passed.”

Lodge and his band are going to perform the entire orchestral version of the groundbreaking album “Days of Future Passed” in the second part of their show. They’ll also add some exciting new songs, lesser-known tracks, better video quality, and impressive lighting compared to the original production.
Lodge’s band, known as the “10,000 Light Years Band,” will include his longtime friend Alan Hewitt on keyboards, Billy Ashbaugh on drums, Duffy King on guitars, and Jason Charboneau playing the cello when they reschedule their tour.
In the performance, they will include a special video and recording of poems written by the late Graeme Edge, titled “Morning Glory” and “Late Lament.” These poems were originally spoken by Mike Pinder on the album, but Lodge asked Edge to record them so he could have them with him on stage.
Additionally, it was expected that Jon Davison, who is Lodge’s son-in-law and a member of the band YES, would sing the popular classic rock songs “Tuesday Afternoon” and “Nights in White Satin.”
Both Misty Raney and Shawn Barber have faced health challenges in their lives. While Misty Raney’s illness raises questions about the reasons behind her health problems, Shawn Barber’s situation prompts curiosity about whether he suffered from any diseases before his passing. It’s a reminder of the importance of understanding the health struggles individuals may go through.
