Jaxson Dart Career
In 2021, during his first year at USC, Jaxson Dart aimed to be the second-string quarterback, standing behind Kedon Slovis.
During the Spring Game, an annual event, Dart’s powerful throws and quick moves impressed the coaches. In a memorable moment, his teammate Michael Jackson III, also a freshman, made a stunning one-handed dive to catch a touchdown pass from Dart on the last play of the game.
On September 18, Dart got a chance to play in a game against Washington State, taking over for the injured Slovis during the second series. This was USC’s first game after their head coach, Clay Helton, was let go.
Dart’s start was rocky as he threw an interception on his first series in the game. However, he bounced back later in the first half with a 38-yard touchdown pass.
He got to start a game for the first time on November 20, playing against UCLA.
After the 2021 season, USC chose Lincoln Riley as their new head coach. There were rumors that quarterback Caleb Williams from Oklahoma might transfer to USC, following Riley.
