About 10:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jason Ravnsborg told the Hyde County Sheriff’s Office that he hit a deer, but he was not injured.
But the very next day on Sunday, a body of Joseph Boever, a 55-year-old man was found. Therefore an investigation will start over the incident, and Jason will be questioned for sure.
The investigation will be done by the South Dakota Highway Patrol which will also be overseen by Cabinet Secretary for the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
Ongoing Investigation
Cabinet Secretary for the South Dakota Department of Public Safety Craig Price said,
“We are currently working the investigation as referenced by Governor Noem in Hyde County, South Dakota Highway Patrol routinely investigates fatality crashes across our state, and we will handle this as we would any other fatal crash.”
While Timothy Bormann, Ravnsborg’s chief of staff said,
“The Office of the Attorney General extends our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Mr Boever. The Attorney General, and our office, are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation of this event and will continue to do so,”
