Kevin Hart’s Early Life
On July 6, 1979, Kevin Hart was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nancy reared her son Kevin and his older brother Robert. She was a systems analyst in the Office of Student Registration and Financial Services at the University of Pennsylvania.
Hart completed his high school education at George Washington. He briefly enrolled at the Community College of Philadelphia before leaving to relocate to New York City and then the Boston region. He was a shoe salesman by trade.

After participating in an amateur night at a bar in the Philadelphia area, Hart made his way into comedy. In Philadelphia, The Laff House hosted his first performance. He did not achieve success right away.
Hart was, in fact, repeatedly jeered off the stage. He was attempting to mimic other comedians at this early stage of his career, one of them being Chris Tucker. He eventually recognized that was ineffective and changed his performance.
With his comedy tour “I’m a Grown Little Man,” Hart hit the road in 2009. He then went on to tour with “Seriously Funny” in 2010, “Laugh at My Pain” in 2011, and “Let Me Explain” in 2013. Movie theaters also screened the latter two as features. With only the “Laugh at My Pain” tour, he made over $15 million, making it one of the most successful comedy tours of the year.
Hart began his “What Now?” Tour in Texas in April of 2015. Universal Pictures declared in July of that year that “Kevin Hart: What Now?” would premiere in theaters on October 14, 2016. He then went on to tour and release “Irresponsible” in 2019 and “Zero F**ks Given” in 2020, the latter of which earned him a nomination for Best Comedy Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
