Despite how fantastic the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro are, they have both been available for a few months, and the iPhone 15 is already the subject of many rumours.

However, since Apple often makes iPhone announcements in the fall, we still have a few months before the iPhone 15 variants are released. In other words, there is still plenty of time for further rumours to spread, which they will.

For your convenience, we’ve compiled all of the news and rumours about the iPhone 15 in one spot, but remember that they are all still just rumours. Everything is provisional until Apple declares it to be so in a formal statement. It’s awful if you enjoy surprises because many rumours still offer us a general notion of what to anticipate each year. This is what we currently know about the iPhone 15!

iPhone 15 Release Date

If Apple sticks to its usual September release schedule, the iPhone 15 models will most likely be available in September 2023.

iPhone 15 Design And Size

According to rumours, the pill-and-hole cutout will expand to all iPhone 15 models. All iPhone 15 models will have Dynamic Islands instead of notches.

Apple’s four models—the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Max, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max—will remain unchanged. The cheaper iPhone 15 models will have fewer features than the more expensive “pro” variants.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have a USB-C port and a Dynamic Island instead of a notch. A purported iPhone 15 Pro image revealed the USB-C port. Along with the Dynamic Island, all iPhone 15 models may have a 28nm-processed OLED display driver chip that reduces power usage and improves battery life.

Despite the Dynamic Island switch, the basic iPhone 15 will not have ProMotion or always-on display technology. These features will remain Pro-only. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Dynamic Island will have a new design with an embedded proximity sensor, but it will not change the look or functionality. Apple may cut device costs by changing component costs.

Here is a video about the iPhone 15. You can check below:

iPhone 15 Color Options

The iPhone 15 variants may come in light blue and dark pink. This year is no exception to Apple’s practice of offering the regular iPhone models in various vibrant hues.

The traditional black, white, and PRODUCT(RED) colour selections will likely be offered alongside the vivid pink and blue hues.

iPhone 15 Pro Exclusive Design

Although all iPhone 15 models will use the USB-C connector, other design tweaks are unique to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Based on circulating details, Renders of the gadget show that the iPhone 15 Pro variants would reportedly have slimmer, more curved bezels than the iPhone 14 Pro versions. The iPhone 15 models will resemble the iPhone 14 models with flatter edges, an aluminium frame, and glass front and back, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro variants will only have these deeper curves.

iPhone 15

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro series is anticipated to have more curved front glass that blends better into the frame and a titanium chassis rather than a stainless steel one.

iPhone 15Glass

Unconfirmed Weibo rumours claim that the iPhone 15 models may have frosted glass backs, a design element that Apple has typically reserved for the Pro versions. Glossy black is commonly used for standard models, whereas frosted glass is only used on more expensive models.

If confirmed, the backs of the iPhone 15 ordinary and iPhone 15 Pro variants will also be made of frosted glass.

iPhone Case

Some information on how earlier iPhone 14 cases would fit is provided by a set of 3D printed iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, and it looks that older cases will not be compatible with the new iPhones.

Although the iPhone 15 Plus can fit inside an iPhone 14 Plus, minor modifications to the iPhone 15 lineup’s size will often prevent cases from fitting. iPhone 14 Pro cases do not function correctly because of the larger back camera housing, more curved design, and altered button placement of the Pro models.

iPhone 15 Parts And Presentation

The Dynamic Island and USB-C port in leaked iPhone 15 pictures validate rumours. The leaked photographs show Dynamic Island, which will expand to all iPhone 15 models in 2023 and reveal that the iPhone 15 will look identical to the iPhone 14.

The Dynamic Island and USB-C replace the iPhone 14’s notch. iPhone 15 Pro versions will have a deeper curve and a titanium frame. Leaked renders imply a minor display size modification.

9to5Mac images of the iPhone 15 based on CAD files reveal a 6.2-inch display, up from 6.1 inches. Apple’s body and camera remain unchanged. Renders of the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus show the Dynamic Island, thinner bezels, and small size and thickness changes compared to the iPhone 14 Plus.

ShrimpApplePro tweeted about the iPhone 15 Pro Max CAD! You can check below:

Excited to share photos of the iPhone 15 Pro Max CAD! This one was source from a case manufacturer. I know others have already shared the 3D model, but I wanted to give you my own w/ a closer look. As promised, the most detailed! 🧵 pic.twitter.com/FZGBueAgLl

A Dynamic Island and USB-C port will replace the notch. The camera bump may be more significant and have more rounded edges for a smoother front-to-rear transition.

No Touch ID

Although there have been persistent speculations that Apple has explored reintroducing Touch ID to its flagship iPhones utilizing an under-display technology, it is anticipated that Touch ID will not be present in the iPhone 15 models, which will instead feature Face ID.

The under-display Face ID functionality that Apple is developing won’t be available until 2025. The iPhone 15 will instead continue to use the Dynamic Island in 2023, and Apple is anticipated to expand its use to all models rather than just the Pro variants.

USB-C

To meet new rules in Europe, Apple is replacing the Lightning port on the iPhone 15 devices with a USB-C port. Due to these laws, Apple must change its global design or create specific iPhones for the European market. This means that Apple must produce iPhones with USB-C connections in Europe.

Reliable sources have claimed that Apple will make the switch, using a USB-C port rather than a Lightning port for charging purposes. These sources include Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, and others. As a result of this change, Apple users will be able to charge all of their devices using a single charging standard, including the Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

iPhone 15 Camera Updates

For the iPhone 15 models, Apple is rumoured to use Sony’s latest “state-of-the-art” image sensors. Sony’s image sensor, as compared to ordinary sensors, doubles the saturation signal in each pixel, allowing it to collect more light and reduce underexposure and overexposure. The sensor will enable improvements in portraits and other photographs even when there is a lot of backlighting.

Sony employs semiconductor architecture that separates photodiodes from transistors, allowing for more photodiodes. It is unclear whether all iPhone 15 models will use the new sensor technology or if Apple will limit it to the higher-end “Pro” iPhone 15 devices.

iPhone 15

According to analyst Jeff Pu, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models may include the 48-megapixel camera launched in the iPhone 14 Pro versions. The new lens features a sensor that captures more light, improving image quality.

Qualcomm Modem Chips

Apple will use Qualcomm’s 5G modem chips for the 2023 iPhone 15 series, as it has done since introducing 5G iPhones. Rumours said Apple might employ its in-house modem chips as early as 2023, but the technology won’t be ready until at least 2024.

The same Qualcomm modem chip, most likely the X70, will be used in all iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro versions. Qualcomm’s X70 chip improves AI for quicker processing speeds, a more comprehensive coverage range, improved signal, lower latency, and up to 60% better battery efficiency.

Wi-Fi 6E

Apple is upgrading to Wi-Fi 6E, according to leaked iPhone 15 Wi-Fi chip schematics, although it will be confined to iPhone 15 Pro versions. Wi-Fi 6E will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, but Wi-Fi 6 will remain on the basic iPhone 15 models.

Wi-Fi 6E has greater bandwidth than Wi-Fi 6, allowing quicker communication speeds, lower latency, and more capacity. Wi-Fi 6E adds 1.2GHz to the 6GHz band, and it can provide whole-home gigabit coverage, multi-gigabit connectivity for venues, and more significant data streams such as those utilized for AR and VR applications.

A-Series Chips

The iPhone 15 Pro versions will be the first to use an A-series chip manufactured by Apple supplier TSMC on its next-generation 3-nanometer node. 3nm chip technology is predicted to boost processing performance by 10 to 15% while lowering power consumption by up to 35%.

The speedier CPUs will only be available in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will use the 4-nanometer A16 chip initially seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Price

A reliable person who reached out predicts that Apple will also raise the price of the iPhone 15. Ives believes that the average selling price of the upcoming iPhones will increase, but according to my source, in the US, this is more likely to happen through price increases for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max rather than for basic versions.

My source thinks that a $100 hike is more probable than prior reports that suggested rises of up to $200 because Apple has not yet decided whether to increase the price of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. If accurate, the pricing breakdown would be as follows:

  • iPhone 15 – $799
  • iPhone 15 Plus – $899
  • iPhone 15 Pro – $1,099
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max – $1,199
