HPs New Elite Dragonfly Business Laptop Has Mass Appeal

His newest Elite Book, the Elite Dragonfly, does look like a company laptop.

It comes in a shade of deep blue, and its own lightweight magnesium construct feels and looks more like a premium consumer laptop than something made for the industrial sector.

The 13.3-inch Elite Dragonfly weighs less than one kilogram (2.2 pounds). Is far lighter than His previous Elite Books, light enough to carry with one hand. HP is obviously trying to carry on other feather-light competitors like the LG Gram. And even though it does weight much, the system does feel cheap, and is stuffed with features and ports.

This is a 2-in-1 laptop, so it may bend 360 degrees, in case you want to use it like a tablet or write on its display. It supports busy styluses however there sold separately.  Its 720p webcam sits above the display (complete with a hardware camera for solitude ), and it supports Windows Hello.

There also a fingerprint sensor on the hands rest, if you want to have more than one method of authentication available.

Other features include support for the newly launched Wi-Fi (802.11ax), which permits for 5x faster internet speeds than 802.11ac. You are able to opt for 4G LTE in case you want; HP has added 4×4 antennas to that version (two on the upper bezel of the display and two surrounding the hands rest), which should vastly improve transfer speeds in comparison with 2×2 antenna arrangement on the HP Elite Book x360 1030, its preceding version.

Because these are company systems, HP offers other customization options too. If your willing to forgo the 1kg weight for longer battery life, you can opt for performance 56th battery which extends the run time from 16.5 hours in the default light weigh 38Wh battery to 24.5 hours. Both batteries encourage His Fast Charge attribute, which may bring them up to a 50% charge in 30 minutes.

The default display is an FHD display with 400 nits of brightness which only takes 1W of power. It supports 1,000 nits and comes from FHD resolution.

The new Elite Dragonfly will start at $1,549 as it begins shipping in November.
