Haley Lu Richardson Says She Divorced Ex-fiancé Brett Dier Two Years Ago And Is Ready To ‘move On’

White Lotus star Haley Lu Richardson and Jane the Virgin veteran Brett Dier met for the first time after their breakup to update fans on their romance.

Haley Lu Richardson and Brett Dier‘s relationship is finished and has been for some time.

Tuesday, the White Lotus actress said that she and her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend ended their relationship two years ago. “Hey there. This is Brett and me. Actually, we split up two years ago “Richardson, 27, wrote in an Instagram Story along with a snapshot of herself and the Jane the Virgin star giving the thumbs up.

“However, life continues, and we are both surviving and doing rather well,” she continued. “We spent a significant portion of our lives together. I’m so grateful to have had the last few years to heal and mature without the internet knowledge, but we wanted to share the news and move on now.”

Richardson ended the post with a thought for her followers to think about: “Love yourselves! Life is what it is, kids!”

On his Instagram story, Dier also said the same thing. “Today was the first time we met,” he wrote. “We’re happy and thankful that we got to spend time together. People who want to know what happened to us should read Haley’s post, which is better written.”

Richardson told Dier in March 2019 that she had asked him to marry her, and Dier had said yes. “I just asked,” the actress told Cole Sprouse and Busy Philipps, her co-stars on Five Feet Apart, on Busy Tonight. “We’re not crazy romantic people, so we didn’t plan anything.

He was sitting there eating pizza and telling me a joke that Shia LaBeouf had told in an interview. He was acting like Shia LaBeouf explaining the joke, and for some reason, I just cut him off and asked, “Want to marry me?”

At the time, Richardson and Dier had been dating for seven years.

“When it happened, we were at this outdoor strip mall eating pizza,” she told Cosmopolitan. “When we were crying and holding each other and saying, “Oh my gosh, we’re going to get married, we’re going to be together forever,” we had to do something because we didn’t have any rings.
