Is Google Meet a Better Alternative to Zoom?

Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing software. Where users can use it to virtually talk with others. Zoom features communication through video or audio-only. It also provides recording features while conducting live chats. It lets you manage those sessions to view later. Whereas Google Meet is very similar to Zoom. It is also a cloud-based video conferencing software with awesome features and it is an updated version of Google Hangouts. Google Meet is very suitable for business and to access some features they need to pay for it. It has very affordable plans. Let us talk about the features of Google Meet (Free Variant). It is a part of premium G Suite services.

Features of Google Meet in Free Variant:

  1. It is available on different platforms such as Android, iOS, and also supports Web Browsers.
  2. Free Video conferencing time limit of 60 minutes.
  3. A higher level of security featuring DTLS, SRTP, along with Unique Encryption Technology and secured RPC  technology.
  4. It has a maximum participant limit of 100 members.
  5. It is capable of screen sharing.
  6. The free variant doesn’t support the Recording feature, but with the paid services users can record it.

Google Meet is quite reliable and easy to use with a beautiful interface. But to access some of the main features, they need to purchase the premium plans. There are three plans for the users, they are Basic, Business, and Enterprise edition. The Basic variant costs $6, Business variant costs $12, and similarly Enterprise variant costs $25. All these plans are for 30 days. Google also provides a 14-day free trial of G Suite for the users.

Both the softwares support premium features, users can choose between Zoom and Google Meet as they are very affordable and very easy to use.
