The highly anticipated new Gladiators season has a fixed release date. In tests of strength and speed, competitors compete against bodybuilders and professional athletes in this sports entertainment program, which hasn’t aired in the UK since 2000.
In addition, the broadcaster has already posted first-look pictures of the new venue to Instagram, offering us a preview of what to expect. “Seeing as you’ve waited so patiently, here’s our brand-new Gladiators arena in all of its glory. We’re so excited for you to see what’s in store,” the account captioned the images.
Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh, who rose to stardom in the travel series Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad on ITV and is presently a cast member of Casualty, will host the revival.
When Bradley announced that he would be hosting the program last year, he commented, “Wow! The request to be a part of this venerable performance is unbelievable. I used to watch my wife participate in this massive show every week from backstage or in the audience, and now I get to co-host a brand-new season of GLADIATORS!
Gladiators have been a huge part of our family, so it’s an honor to be invited to co-host this legendary show. “I’m so excited for everyone to see the spectacle, elite athletes, and fantastic family entertainment that is GLADIATORS.”
Along with brand-new activities for the players to play, the new series will also feature the return of beloved games like Duel and Hang Tough, along with The Eliminator after each show.
Who Will Be Cast in Gladiators?
The series’ hosts, Bradley and Barney Walsh, are a father-and-son team who will take Ulrika Jonsson’s place. Mark Clattenburg, a former Premier League Football referee, will take over as the primary referee, replacing John Anderson. Sonia Mkoloma, an English netball player, and Lee Phillips, the cover star for Men’s Health, will serve as supplementary referees beside Mark.
Sadly, the original group of superhumans will not be making a comeback. Instead, a fresh batch of sixteen gladiators will battle it out on television. Among the amazing credentials these gladiators possess include playing ex-professional rugby, bodybuilding, and weightlifting. Apollo, Athena, Bionic, and Diamond are just a few of the gladiator stage names we look forward to witnessing in action.
