Genshin Impact fans are eagerly awaiting the 4.1 update, even though the Fontaine region has just been introduced in the game. Leaks have already given us insights into what to expect in this upcoming update, including new banners, and characters. Here’s a roundup of what we know about the 4.1 update so far.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Upcoming Character
Recent Genshin Impact leaks have unveiled more details about upcoming playable characters set to join the roster in the coming months. As the game introduces a new main region, players can anticipate content-packed updates, including the addition of new characters.
The ongoing Genshin Impact version 4.0 has already introduced two new characters, Lyney and his sister Lynette, available on the limited banner. The second part of this update will also bring a new playable character named Freminet, confirmed as a Cryo Claymore user.
Following the established pattern of HoYoverse with previous region releases, players can expect up to three new characters in each upcoming update. HoYoverse has confirmed that Genshin Impact update 4.1 will introduce two new characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, both anticipated to have a five-star rarity. This suggests that their releases will likely span the two banner cycles of the update.
A Twitter account named Teyvattabloid2 has provided insights into the release schedule for these upcoming characters. According to the post, version 4.2 will bring Furina, likely the most popular Fontaine character, and the Hydro Archon of Fontaine. Although limited official information is available, Furina is expected to be a five-star rarity Hydro user and possibly a sword user, making her the first Archon with this weapon type. Leaks have hinted that her kit may involve gravity manipulation and creating various elemental lifeforms.
In version 4.3, Navia, also known as the president of the Spina di Rosula, will make her debut. This character has generated considerable excitement, as she will be the first Geo user to join the playable roster in nearly two years, following Yun Jin’s release in January 2022.
Genshin Impact update 4.3 is rumored to introduce the Cloud Retainer, potentially signaling a return to the Liyue region and speculations of her release being tied to the annual Lantern Rite Festival. Updates 4.4 and 4.5 could introduce Clorinde, who has already appeared in the game, and the infamous Harbinger Arlecchino, expected to be the primary antagonist in the Fontaine storyline.

Is There a Genshin Impact 4.1 Release Date?
While HoYoverse hasn’t officially announced the release date for Genshin Impact 4.1, we can make an educated guess based on previous update cycles. Since the 4.0 update dropped on August 16, 2023, and updates tend to follow a six-week cycle, it’s reasonable to expect the 4.1 update to arrive in late September.
