A long, thin tube with a camera inside it is put into your bottom during a colonoscopy. Before the test, you need to take a laxative to make sure your guts are empty. Gayle’s fans praised her for being honest about the surgery and bringing more attention to it.
COVID-19: A Dreaded Diagnosis
Gayle King said in June 2022 that she had tested positive for COVID-19, even though she had been vaccinated twice and given a boost.
She felt sick for the first time, but she thought she just had a cold. She had to take three tests in a row to prove the diagnosis, and she was told to leave the CBS studio right away. She told her co-hosts that she hoped her symptoms would stay mild and thanked them for being there for her.
She also shared a thoughtful message with her followers: “Funny how all the things on ones to-do list … don’t seem so important when you actually get COVID…”

Van: A Wild Health Scare

She said on air: “I look a little rough, but whatever. I just finished my colonoscopy. Go do it. It’s not that bad.”
Later that day, though, she found out that her test was wrong and that she did not have COVID-19. She said that the false positive made her feel better and was thankful for it because it made her value her health more.
She also joked about her van experience: “I’m thinking maybe we should do this every day. It’s very cozy in here.”
Many people look up to Gayle King because she is honest about her health problems and has the guts to talk about them. She has shown that even famous people can have health problems and that the best way to deal with them is to avoid them and find them early.
As of September 2023, her health problems are gone and she is absolutely healthy and fit.
