Fall Guys Cheaters Will Get Punished A Lot Quicker Now

Fall Guys developers Mediatonic are stepping up their efforts to ensure that cheaters don’t manage to go very far in their game. They’ve been updating their cheat detection system all throughout August. In a recent tweet, they informed players of how it will work now.

Mediatonic Working On “Immediate Action” To Punish Fall Guys Cheaters

“Dealing with cheaters is a top priority for us. At the moment, when a cheater is detected, they are able to finish the current show before being blocked. We are going to start taking more immediate action soon. As mentioned before: It isn’t necessary to manually report cheaters,” they wrote.

For those of you who don’t know how Fall Guys work, it quite is similar to Takeshi’s Castle. Each game starts with 60 players, with only a certain number of players qualifying for the next round. Every round of Fall Guys is a different type of obstacle course. The way the cheat detection works for now means that the cheater could play to the end of the whole game before they got banned.

Fall Guys Cheaters Were Using Steam’s Family-Sharing Feature To Circumvent Bans

However, Mediatonic mentioned that they’re working on something quicker in their tweet. This likely means that the cheaters will now get booted out of the game at the end of each round. They’ve also detected a loophole that cheaters were using to get around these bans.

“We discovered cheaters were using Family-Sharing to get around our banning system on Steam by creating new accounts and sharing with themselves, so we’ve unfortunately had to disable that for now. It should massively help with the cheating issues though!”, they wrote.

Cheaters In Online Multiplayer Games Are Awful

All-in-all, this should make Fall Guys a more enjoyable experience. Cheaters in online multiplayer games aren’t the worst problem in the world, but they are quite frustrating. Their presence can ruin a game for people who may have otherwise enjoyed it.

I haven’t played it myself, but Fall Guys seems like that kind of game. So, if you were thinking of checking it out, now is as good a time as any.
