If you’re a big fan of Ubisoft and love games like Tom Clancy’s series, you might be excited about their new free-to-play shooter game. This game is played from a first-person perspective and is set in arenas where five teams compete. You’ll play with characters from Ubisoft’s games, each having unique abilities that can change the course of the game.
So, how does XDefiant work? It’s similar to games like Call of Duty and Overwatch. You’ll have teams battling each other, but what makes it unique is that the characters you play belong to different groups from Ubisoft’s games. Each group has its special powers that can help them win.
Ubisoft has been releasing a few free PC games recently, so if you’re excited to try this one, here’s what you need to know: the release date, trailers, maps, game modes, and details about the different groups you can play as.

Xdefiant Gameplay
XDefiant is a game where teams of six players face off in an arena. It aims to be a fun and fast-paced arcade-style first-person shooter. When the game is launched, there will be five different groups in XDefiant, each based on a famous Ubisoft game like Far Cry and The Division.
Each group has two classes, making ten types when the game starts. These classes have special abilities, such as better healing, creating shields, or using a flamethrower to attack enemies.

XDefiant also has a system to customize your equipment, similar to recent Call of Duty games. The best equipment setup will be vital to win in any game mode. Speaking of game modes, there are many to choose from. Some are common to first-person shooters, like Domination, while others have changing objectives, like Escort, similar to an Overwatch mode.
You can watch gameplay videos to see how XDefiant is played. The game seems to offer a mix of things that fans of first-person shooters will enjoy, and it tries to keep things exciting without making the game too complicated, which can happen in games like Call of Duty. Even though it takes inspiration from other games, having recognizable groups from Ubisoft’s games shows that they’re trying to make the game their unique way.
What Platforms Will Xdefiant Be on?
XDefiant will be available for the Xbox One and X|S, PS4/5, PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. The game will operate at 120 Hz on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Xdefiant Roadmap
Once the XDefiant release date arrives, the game will have much for players to enjoy. There will be 24 weapons, 14 maps, five game modes, and five factions available from the start. Right at launch, a short “pre-season” will last about six weeks, where you can play with all of this content.
But that’s not all. After the game is released, XDefiant will add new content through its live service. In the first year alone, the game plans to introduce four new factions that will change how the game is played: 12 unique weapons and 12 new maps. This is on top of everything already in the game when it starts.
