Thursday, wide receiver Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers addressed a video that shows him passing a young autograph-seeking fan during his youth football camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Samuel replied to a tweet from the camp’s organiser, FlexWork Sports Management. He stated that all campers received a signed photograph, but he was unable to sign personal items.

The young fan requested that Samuel sign a football bearing the 49ers’ logo. Samuel, who has played the first three seasons of his NFL career in San Francisco, has a lengthy trade request on the table. Samuel’s refusal to sign the ball had apparently nothing to do with the team’s logo, judging by his comments.

Samuel, who was born and raised in Inman, South Carolina, and attended college in South Carolina, is coming off a dominant 2021 campaign in which he accumulated 1,770 total yards and 14 touchdowns for the NFC champions.
